NOTM: Easy Sunset Nails

As I heading off to go on a lovely, warm, summer holiday I decided to get in the mood despite the British weather and do a easy set of sunset nails.

I got the inspiration from pinterest.
Yes, I have a pinterest(I believe it to be ThisJazz).

I just thought that I'd explain how I did my recreation step by step to go with their and my picture. Okay, here we go.
First, you will need to apply a basecoat to your nails.
Now apply 2 coats of a bright yellow polish(I used sunshine by Rimmel)
Next you'll need a sponge eyeshadow applicator(or a makeup sponge) I find these to work pretty well but if you want a better finish I would suggest getting a pack of makeup sponges just for nail art. Due to these two variations there are also two methods of application,
1. Makeup Sponge; apply a line of the same yellow nail polish, then a bright orange(I used miss sporty, but the names rubbed off), then a line of red(Rimmel DoubleDecker, I believe). Next pat the colours onto the nail with the lines facing horizontally. It should have created a even ombré effect, don't worry about the surface being bobbly, we will smooth it later.
2. Sponge eyeshadow applicator;
using plastic(I use some packaging from a christmas gift) make a blob I orange and a blob of red. Dip your applicator to pick up some orange and starting about a third of the way down until two thirds the nail dap the colour on. Next, do the same with the red, but starting where the orange finished until the tip. This will create a bit more of a splattered or sponged effect.

The final step after either of these methods is to apply a top coat. A tip that I have with this is to apply it a bit earlier with the second method thank you normally would because it blends the colours together also.
And that's it!!
If you have a go, send me a pic on twitter @thisjazz
